Advanced Seminar on Quantum Algorithms
Organizers: David Gross. Time: Thursdays 12pm. Venue: Seminar room 0.01, Theoretical Physics Building.
Announcements
- Preparation meeting: Thursday October 15th, 12pm.
Course description
In this student seminar, we will look into quantum algorithms and may touch on the foundations of quantum complexity theory. Credits are awarded for a 45min presentation that introduces the participants to one quantum algorithm. The topics will be assigned during the first meeting. If you want to take the course, but are strictly unable to attend the first meeting, please send an email to the organizers.
Preliminary list of topics:
- Universality and Solovay-Kitaev
- Grover search
- Simon's algorithm
- Quantum simulation
- The Quantum Fourier Transform and Shor's algorithm (two talks)
- Quantum Convex Optimization
- Variational quantum algorithms
- Decoded Quantum Interference
- Dequantisations
- Foundations of quantum complexity theory
We are open for suggestions from participants.
